Dog Agility Obstacles
The dogs run through a variety of obstacles on a dog agility course inlcuding a-frames, tunnels, jumps, dog walk, teeter-totter, crossover, and towers.
An A-frame is two 8 – 9 foot ramps that are 3 – 4 feet wide and are propped up so that they meet in a peak at the middle. The dog climbs up to the top and then down to the other side in a controlled manner.
The dog walk has two ramps that have a long plank between them. The dog walks up, then across, then down again.
The crossover has four ramps leading up to a small platform in the middle. The dog has to go down the right ramp as he or she is prompted by their handler.
The tower is only found in local clubs. It usually has a plank, a set of stairs and a slide. The handler signals the dog to go up one way and come down the other way. The slide can be tricky so use caution.

A corgi descends from the teeter totter.

An Australian Shepherd sails through the tire jump.

A border collie walks through a dog walk.
There are different jumps including the bar jump, tire jump, panel jump, window jump, double bar jump, triple bar jump, broad jump, platform jump, and wing jump. The wishing well jump is only found on the USDAA courses and is a jump in the shape of a wishing well that has a tire jump and a spread hurdle combined. The bush fence hurdle is found in UKC courses and has plants and lattice that reach from 8 – 20 inches in height.
